Knott’s Berry Farm offers a wide variety of rides for all ages, from gentle family-friendly options to thrilling roller coasters for adrenaline junkies.

Family Rides & Kid-Friendly Fun: For younger children, Camp Snoopy is full of fun, gentle rides like Charlie Brown’s Kite Flyer and the Grand Sierra Railroad. Don’t miss the Calico Mine Ride and Calico Log Ride—classic rides for the whole family. For a more relaxed experience, enjoy the Butterfield Stagecoach, a real horse-drawn carriage ride through Ghost Town.

Moderate Thrill & Classic Rides: If you’re ready for a little more excitement, try Jaguar!, a family-friendly coaster, or Montezooma’s Revenge, a shuttle loop ride. Calico River Rapids is perfect for a refreshing splash on a hot day. Other fun rides include La Revolución, a giant swinging pendulum, and Sierra Sidewinder, a spinning coaster in Camp Snoopy.

Thrill Rides & Roller Coasters: For thrill-seekers, GhostRider is a must-ride—this wooden coaster delivers an intense experience with air-time hills and sharp turns. Silver Bullet offers an inverted ride with multiple loops, while Xcelerator launches you from 0 to 82 mph in just seconds. HangTime is a newer coaster with a steep drop and inversions, and if you want a true adrenaline rush, try the Supreme Scream, a 252-foot drop tower.

Height requirements

It’s important to know the height requirements for each ride to ensure your safety and enjoyment.

To make it easier, Knott’s provides wristbands based on your child’s height. Here’s what you need to know:

  • 52 inches: Required for extreme rides like Xcelerator.
  • 48 inches: Most rides, including major coasters, can be enjoyed solo.
  • 42 inches: For certain intermediate rides and coasters (can ride with an adult if shorter).
  • 32 inches and below: Little rides in Camp Snoopy, the Grand Sierra Railroad, and the carousel are available.

Note: Kids under 36 inches can enjoy the more gentle rides in Camp Snoopy. Remember, if a child is tall enough but needs a companion, an adult (14 or older) must accompany them.

Off-peak seasons, like late fall and early spring, also offer fewer visitors and a more relaxed experience.

Avoid visiting during major holidays or the summer if you want to avoid large crowds.

If you’re interested in special events like Knott’s Scary Farm or Knott’s Merry Farm, be prepared for longer lines but enjoy the unique themed experiences.

Avoiding long lines can really improve your experience at Knott’s Berry Farm. Here are some tips to help you skip the queues and make the most of your day:

  • Arrive Early: The first hour after the park opens (at 10:00 AM) is the best time to visit popular rides like GhostRider and Xcelerator. Most visitors haven’t gotten to the major attractions yet, so you’ll face shorter lines.
  • Use the Fast Lane: If you want to skip the regular lines entirely, consider purchasing a Fast Lane pass. This lets you bypass most of the regular queues, saving you time.
  • Visit on Off-Peak Days: Weekdays (especially Tuesday and Wednesday) are less crowded, so if you can plan your visit during the week, you’ll experience much shorter wait times.
  • Head to the Popular Rides First: When you arrive, head straight to the most popular rides before the crowds build up. Rides like GhostRider and Silver Bullet can get long lines quickly, so it’s best to ride them early in the day.
  • Take Advantage of Meal Times: Wait times often drop during typical meal times (around 12-1 PM or 5-6 PM) when people are eating. This is a good opportunity to ride the bigger attractions with shorter queues.
  • Evening Visits: The last hour before the park closes often has much shorter lines, so try to fit in a few more rides before leaving.
